Marvel Studios has very bsuy and exciting year coming up in 2018. The organization has been stepping up its game in regards to movie releases. Marvel has become very ambitious with the number of movies its releasing and has five films planned for the 2018 year.

Marvel Entertainment, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company and is one of the world’s largest character-based companies. The organization has built and produced more than 8,000 characters featured in comics, movies and more for over 75 years. Famous Marvel characters include Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Avengers.


The Marvel Cinematic Universe films are a series of superhero films, based on publications by Marvel Comics. Production of Marvel movies began in 2007 and over time the series has released 17 films. Collectively, Marvel Cinematic has grossed over $13.4 billion at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing movie franchise of all time.


Movie Releases

The first Marvel production of 2018 is the Black Panther, which releases in February. This movie is based on the new character, Prince T’Challa, and portrays him returning home to the African country of Wakanda. Prince T’Challa is set to serve as the nation’s leader. However, his throne is challenged, and he must spring into action to protect his nation.


The highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War releases in May and focuses on the Avengers joining forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy. The group must confront Thanos, who is trying to amass the Infinity Stones. Marvel will also release Ant-Man and The Wasp, marking the first female superhero character to have her name in the title of a Marvel movie. This film includes the Ant-Man joining forces with the Wasp on a crucial new mission to discover secrets from the past.


Later in the year, Venom will be released. This movie focuses on a man developing superpowers after becoming a host to an alien. Venom may be connected to the Spider-Man: Homecoming film, but it is too early to tell. Lastly, in December, Marvel will release an animated Spider-Man movie. This film isn’t technically part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but includes a famous Marvel character.


The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has become a prominent staple of the cinema industry, and 2018 will be an exciting year for Marvel fans. Marvel Cinematic Universe has steadily stepped up its releases over the past few years, and already has four other movies planned for 2019.
