As the year ends and nominations for the year’s best movies come out, it’s time to look ahead at some of the movies that are coming out in 2018. The trailers for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse, Avengers: Infinity War, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom are already out, and they’re generating some serious buzz for their movies. Here’s a look at the best movie trailers for 2018.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse

Just a few moments into the trailer it’s clear that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse isn’t the average Spider-Man movie, and that’s not just because it isn’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film focuses on Miles Morales as its main protagonist, rather than Peter Parker. Miles Morales is an Afro-Latino teenager who also fights under the name Spider-Man. He made his comic book debut in 2011, and this will be the first movie to feature the character.

The trailer hints that this movie will be an origin story – while also developing a world of its own. At the end of the trailer, Miles asks, “So… how many are there?” as a spider crawls down a subway wall. It’s due out in theaters December 21, 2018, but movie fans are already eagerly awaiting its release.

Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War is the next installment in the ever-popular Avengers movie franchise. It’s the first time that the entire MCU will be featured together onscreen. Tony Stark, Dr. Strange, Bruce Banner, and all the rest will be teaming up to take on Thanos and his army of minions. The trailer gives a tantalizing glimpse into what’s sure to be a massive showdown.

Black Panther (played by Chadwick Boseman) became a fan favorite after his appearance in Captain America: Civil War, and judging by the amount of screen time he gets in the trailer, he’ll have an even more prominent role in this movie. Avengers: Infinity War opens the summer blockbuster movie season on May 4, 2018.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom returns to the familiar island of Isla Nublar seen in the first Jurassic Park movie and Jurassic World. This time, it’s the dinosaurs that need saving, not their human counterparts. Judging by the trailer, though, it’s clear that things are bound to go awry: the Velociraptors aren’t behaving the way Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) trained them to. As Dr. Ian Malcom puts it, life finds a way. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom debuts on June 22, 2018.
